origins to this last name. 1) Wu Hui, a grandson of Zhuan Xu
was in charge of sacrifice, during Yao Dis reign. He had a
son called Zhong, who was made the duke of Lu (Pingyuan in Shandong). His descendents bear the
last name Lu. 2) During Zhan Guo, the youngest son of
Qi Xuan Wang was called Jiao Tong. He was awarded the land of Lu and his descendents also bear
the last name Lu. 3) During the Chun Qiu period, there was
a neighboring tribe to China called the Lu Hun kingdom (north east of Song in Henan).
The people of this kingdom were also known as the Lus. (Lu means land).
