Fan was awarded the land of Kun Wu (east of Xu Chang in HeNan province), during the Xia Dynasty. Among the descendents of Kun Wu, the land of Su was awarded (vicinity of Wen in HeNan). Its people began to bear the last name Su. (Su means regaining consciousness).
